Gospel tinted of Blues, Folk, Soul and Country

GOSPEL ANGEL revisits the gospel repertoire by bringing it a unique sound and identity, imbued with blues, folk or country. The group relies on this culture and these values conveyed by the "gospel songs" and negro spirituals, while citing in reference artists like Johnny Cash or Elvis Presley, who brought another dimension and a particular sound to these traditional songs.
In addition to this repertoire engraved in the collective memory, GOSPEL ANGEL does not hesitate to "color gospel" pieces from a more contemporary repertoire such as Peter Gabriel, U2, Simon & Garfunkel... as soon as he conveys the same emotion and the same messages.
The vocal and musical arrangements are nourished by the rich experience of the six members of the group, particularly within gospel choirs, but also by their many and diverse influences. The presence of a Telecaster (distorted guitar), a calabash (African percussion) or even an accordion shakes up the frontiers of Gospel music to tend towards a mixed and universal music.
